When confronted to repay the loan, she threatens Mahesh using the influence of her father Rajendranath (Samuthirakani), a corrupt and cruel businessman. Mahesh travels to India to get his money back from Rajendranath at any cost, and in return, earns his anger. Lately, Thaman has been in great form and has continued the same with this film. The songs are superb and a major bonus, Thaman’s BGM is another great height for the film. The artwork by AS Prakash is also amazing, especially the bank sets, they are so nice.
Talking about director Parashuram, he has done a good job with the film. As he got a huge opportunity to direct Mahesh, he didn’t do anything fancy and showed the star hero in the best possible way. Had he narrated the second half in a more dramatic way and added stronger emotions, the output would have been even better.

Solo’s Parashuram and Geetha Govindam fame Sarkaru directs Vaari Pata. This is his first outing with a big star. There is a lot of expectation from him to give entertainer. But, he could not take advantage of the golden opportunity.
The film begins with a childhood episode which further prompts a formulaic narrative. We get exactly that and with a weak story. In fact, there is hardly anything in the first half relating to the main story until the pre-hiatus mark. Typical commercial entertainment, consisting of fun and romance between the lead pair Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh, covered the bulk of the first half. It would be all right if the track had offered some ‘freshness’. Even when something works, there is a ‘see-there’ feel everywhere. This Dejavu feel and regularity never let the narrative get high and left with a flat and generic impression. It is only when we move beyond entertainment that we reach the real story. It moves towards the gap mark and raises hopes in the second half.
